How much does brake pad replacement cost?

Do I really need new rotors every time I get pads?

No. Rotors that measure above their stamped minimum thickness and run true can stay right where they are. Rotors below minimum, deeply scored, or causing a pulsation that keeps returning get replaced — and either way, you see the measurement that made the call.

Can't you just resurface my rotors instead of replacing them?

When there's enough metal, yes — a truing cut is a legitimate fix. But many newer rotors are cast thin from the factory, and machining one below its minimum leaves a rotor that overheats and shudders. We measure first and tell you which side of the line yours are on.

Ceramic or semi-metallic — which pads should I get?
