That light-throttle shudder on GM's 8-speed (8L90/8L45) is a widely documented torque-converter complaint. Caught early, a proper fluid service to the correct low-viscosity spec often settles it; if the converter clutch is already damaged, it needs real repair. We road-test and diagnose before recommending anything — our transmission page covers the depth.
On 5.3L and 6.2L V8s with Active Fuel Management / Dynamic Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation), a collapsed lifter is a known cause of ticking, a misfire, or a rough idle. It's an engine job, not a transmission one — we diagnose it properly and lay out the fix, including AFM/DFM delete options where appropriate, in writing first.
